Stephen and Linda Stone founded Friends of Veterans in December of 2006. Their goal was to assist senior veterans and their families obtain what has been commonly known as the “Aid and Attendance Special Pension.” The couple harbored a passionate desire to show their gratitude for all of the sacrifices made by veterans and their families. This “Benefit” helps disabled senior veterans and their surviving spouses defray the costs of long-term care. Working primarily in Clark County, Nevada, the Stones provided their educational expertise and assistance and succeeded in submitting hundreds of claims, all at no cost, to veterans or their families.
In May of 2009, the legal documentation was submitted to the Internal Revenue Service to become a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit, Public Charity. On September 15, 2009, Veterans Angels, Inc., received confirmation of their tax-exempt status and received their EIN # 27-0204290.
