Since Mom’s moneys had been running out, I had started looking into nursing homes that had a dementia unit and accepted Medicaid. It was heart breaking to think she was going to have to move from her sweet little apartment in the memory care unit of an assisted living to a more expensive (to the taxpayer) facility where she would have to share a room. With this increase in funds/income, her money should last her the rest of her life. Without her knowing it, you have enriched her life.
